We are Caron and Laurence Burgess, we live here with our rather lumbering chocolate Labrador, cats and free range hens.  The House dates back to the 16th century but has undergone changes over the years.  The house has a fine and rare example of a pargetted ceiling dating back to the 16th century and as you would expect with a house of that age has many low beams and few level floors.  If you are interested in old houses we would love to tell you more about our house.

Our bed and breakfast guests have sole use of bedrooms and large bathroom on a private landing. We never book both rooms out at the same time unless our guests are together as a group, that way you have complete privacy.  You have your own front door and sitting room with an open fire. In the summer you can enjoy the conservatory where breakfast is served.  We have further accommodation in our annexe which has its own double bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and kitchen.

We are moated on two sides and have good stocks of large carp in the main pond if you are interested in fishing.  The gardens are lovely to stroll in or sit with a glass of wine and look at the famous Suffolk skies.  By day there isn’t another building to mar the view and by night the stars feel so low you could reach out and touch them.  We are lucky to have no light pollution to spoil the night skies and very lucky to have more than our fair share of shooting stars.
